The Los Angeles Angels have confirmed that 27-Year-Old pitcher Tyler Skaggs died while the team was in Texas to play the Rangers. The pitcher was found unresponsive in his hotel room in Texas on Monday and pronounced dead at the scene. Police are investigating but say no foul play is suspected. The Texas Rangers immediately released a statement and announced to fans that last night’s game against the Angels in Globe Life Park was canceled. Skaggs posted a team picture when the Angels arrived in Texas. He was drafted by the Angels in the 1st-round of the 2009 MLB Draft. He made his MLB debut in 2012 for the Arizona Diamondbacks, where he played until 2013. He later returned to the Angels where he’s played ever since (he missed the 2015 season due to surgery).
