A class action has been filed in Ontario seeking compensation for Canadians affected by the massive Capital One data breach disclosed last week. The suit filed in Ontario Superior Court by Toronto law firm Diamond and Diamond asks for more than $350-million dollars in compensation. The suit’s representative plaintiff is Rina Del Guidice of Bolton, who obtained a Costco Wholesale MasterCard through Capital One. The statement of claim seeks certification of the suit as a class action covering Canadians who applied for credit cards from Capital One between 2005 and 2019.
