When the American Idol finale rolls around this Sunday night, we’ll finally get to see judges Katy Perry, Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan perform — along with a couple of American Idol alumni and various country, rock and pop acts. The website GoldDerby.com has a preview of exactly who’s singing what come Sunday night. According to GoldDerby, Katy Perry will sing her hit “Unconditionally” with top-10 finalist Jeremiah Lloyd Harmon, and will perform her latest single, “Con Calma,” with Latin star Daddy Yankee. Lionel Richie will sing his classic “Dancing on the Ceiling” with the top 10, and Luke will sing “Every Breath You Take” with Laci Kaye Booth, as well as his current single, “Knockin’ Boots.” American Idol season eight runner-up Adam Lambert, one of this season’s mentors, will sing his new single, “New Eyes,” and will also rock Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody” with top-10 finalist Dimitrius Graham. Carrie Underwood will perform her latest hit, “Southbound.” Kool & the Gang will appear to sing a medley of their hits “Hollywood Swinging,” “Ladies Night” and “Celebrate” with the entire top 10, while Montell Jordan will sing “This Is How We Do It” — the song Katy Perry did the worm to during the audition rounds — with contestants Austin Michael and Margie Mays. Rock band Weezer will sing their cover versions of Toto’s “Africa,” A-Ha’s “Take On Me” and Tears for Fears’ “Everybody Wants to Rule the World” with Walker Burroughs and Wade Cota. Finally, Madison VanDenburg will sing “All to Myself” and “Speechless” with country duo Dan + Shay, and Laine Hardy will sing two tracks with country star Jon Pardi. But what Alejandro Aranda will sing remains a mystery. The American Idol finale airs Sunday night.
