Conchata Ferrell has passed away at age 77. The Two And a Half Men actress died yesterday as a result of complications following a cardiac arrest. Best known for playing Charlie Sheen’s housekeeper Berta on the CBS sitcom, Ferrell died peacefully surrounded by family at Sherman Oaks Hospital in Sherman Oaks, CA. Co-star Charlie Sheen took to social media yesterday to tip his hat to the “consummate pro” with whom he had worked for many years. “[A]n absolute sweetheart a consummate pro a genuine friend a shocking and painful loss. Berta, your housekeeping was a tad suspect, your peoplekeeping was perfect,” the actor wrote on Twitter. Actor Adam Sandler also paid tribute to the actress, writing on social media, “RIP. Great lady. Will be missed terribly. So sorry to her family.” Conchata’s health issues started in May when she entered the hospital for symptoms stemming from an infection she had over last December and this January. After several days in the hospital the star went into a 10-minute cardiac arrest without warning, keeping her in the ICU another four weeks. Then in July she was transferred from the hospital ICU to a long-term care facility.

She was a beautiful human
Berta’s gruff exterior was an invention of the writers. Chatty’s warmth and vulnerability were her real strengths.
I’m crying for the woman I’ll miss, and the joy she brought so many. https://t.co/SucL6gFaAR
