Country music star Morgan Wallen is being banned from all the major streaming platforms, barred from winning any awards, and being taken off Country music radio thanks to just the latest of several viral videos. This time, he used a racial slur. A video was captured where he was outside a home with friends yelling the N-Word. Many stations have agreed on at least a temporary ban on his music, his record label “suspended his contract indefinitely” . . . and the ACMs made him ineligible for this year’s Awards cycle. To top it off, you won’t hear his music on streaming services like Pandora, Spotify, and Apple Music. CMT announced that they’re “removing his appearances from all platforms.
This is the third time in less than a year that Morgan has done something stupid. There was the arrest outside of Kid Rock’s Big Ass Honky Tonk Rock N’ Roll Steakhouse in May of 2020, infamous partying without a mask that got him booted from SNL (he was eventually invited back) and all incidents are alcohol related. Don’t be surprised if he announces soon he plans to get help. His apology is mostly falling on deaf ears, but here is he statement he gave TMZ: “I used an unacceptable and inappropriate racial slur that I wish I could take back. There are no excuses to use this type of language, ever. I want to sincerely apologize for using the word. I promise to do better.”
