Donald Trump unveiled his police reform executive order yesterday afternoon in the Rose Garden, which includes setting up a register of bad actor cops, as he bashed Barack Obama for not doing something about it during his tenure. The president’s plan will ban police from using chokeholds except for in instances when their lives are at risk and will set up a database where police departments track officers who have been accused of using excessive force. Trump said the plan will increase accountability and transparency while still allowing police officers to do their jobs and protect their communities. He also claimed the measures are aimed at weeding out the tiny amount of bad cops, claiming there is a very small percentage of bad apple offices.
