Elderly Woman Struck By Two Vehicles In Scarborough Yesterday – Both Vehicles Fled The Scene

A female pedestrian in her 70’s was struck and killed yesterday while crossing at a crosswalk on Midland Ave at Sheppard Ave. The woman was actually hit by two vehicles, both of which fled the scene. According to police, a large tanker truck struck the woman as it was turning the corner. She was likely killed when she was run over by the rear wheels. Shortly thereafter, a white Honda Civic struck the woman again and dragged her for a short distance.

The truck did not stop at the scene and continued along Midland Ave. It was later located by police. It’s not clear if the driver will face charges. The driver of the Honda Civic is described as a young male. Witnesses say he initially came to a stop and got out of his vehicle but then got back in and fled the scene upon realizing what had happened.

Anyone with information of camera footage that could assist in the investigation is urged to contact Toronto Police.
