Expanded Alcohol Sales Are Now In Effect In Ontario

Ontarians can now purchase alcohol between 9am and 11pm, seven days a week. That change went into effect yesterday. The change is made to align with the hours of Ontario’s private retail recreational cannabis stores which will begin to open on April 1, 2019. The new hours apply to LCBO stores, The Beer Store, authorized grocery stores and off-site winery retail stores. The Minister of Tourism, Culture, and Sport, Michael Tibollo, made the announcement on Twitter. In the Fall Economic Statement, the government said the move “will provide retailers with the flexibility to respond to local market conditions and consumer demands.”
