New numbers out of the U.S. say for the first time ever, more American households now subscribe to digital streaming services than pay for traditional cable television. 69 percent subscribe to at least one video streaming service. That is slightly more than the 65 percent who pay for cable TV, according to the 13th annual Deloitte survey . The average consumer pays for three streaming services, and Millennials were the generation most likely to use streaming (88 percent). However, many consumers want both: 43 percent of households now subscribe to both cable TV and streaming services.
