Forever21 Apologizes After Using White Model To Promote Black Panther Sweaters

In the ‘what were they thinking’ category, Forver21 is taking some heat for a photo they tweeted and deleted yesterday. The tweet was promoting their new Black Panther Christmas Sweater Line
with the popular “Wakanda Forever” slogan and a Black Panther mask printed on the front. They used the whitest, most blonde, blue-eyed model as their star picture. Many were pointing out that they were frustrated that a black model was not chosen. A rep for Forever21 tells TMZ “Forever 21 takes feedback on our products and marketing extremely seriously. We celebrate all superheroes with many different models of various ethnicities and apologize if the photo in question was offensive in any way.”

After the H&M backlash from January of this year… why would you do that? At this point, I would seriously consider that this was done on purpose for the exact reason of promoting the line.
