Former Casting Producer For The Bachelor Says Women Were Not Considered If They Were ‘Too Black’

A former casting producer for The Bachelor says that women wearing traditionally black hairstyles like afros and braids were considered “too Black to be contestants” o

n the show. Jazzy Collins called out the reality competition and its spin-offs for their lack of diversity via an open letter shared on social media. She says after Rachel Lindsay’s season of the show, the first black female lead, things went back to normal. In case you aren’t that into Bachelor nation, it was announced Matt James would be the next Bachelor, making him the first Black man to take the spot in the show’s 25 seasons. You better believe they’ll have the most diverse cast yet, to try and salvage themselves.
