Harrison Ford was involved in a serious accident with his private plane. No, really, it happened again. He needs to stop playing with my heart like this. Thankfully, Harrison is okay after he accidentally attempted to land in the wrong area at an Orange County airport. It’s bad. To the point where the FAA is now investigating. Harrison was cleared to land on a runway, the FAA says the pilot (Harrison) correctly read back the clearance. However, he landed the plane on a taxiway. Harrison was allegedly heard on an air traffic control recording saying, “Was that airliner meant to be underneath me?”
The FAA has released a statement to Variety saying:
“Air traffic controllers cleared the pilot of a single-engine Aviat Husky to land on Runway 20L at John Wayne Airport Monday afternoon. The pilot correctly read back the clearance. The pilot then landed on a taxiway that runs parallel to the runway, overflying a Boeing 737 that was holding short of the runway. The FAA is investigating this incident.”
TMZ says Harrison just passed a pilot’s medical exam last month, and released a photo of the Taxiway where Harrison landed, compared to the runway where he was supposed to be. It isn’t the first time he has been invovled in a serious accident in his plane. Harrison made an emergency landing in March 2015 after it was believed his plane’s engine suffered some trouble mid-air.
