The Leafs have fired head coach Mike Babcock. You will recall Babcock was hired as part of Toronto’s rebuild in the spring of 2015 and was supposed to be the $50 million dollar man who could lead the Leafs back to the Stanley Cup finals. Despite having a huge line-up of talent, it didn’t work out that way. Babcock picked up 173 wins and 133 losses in his four-plus seasons with Toronto. This season has been particularly bad so far. Marlies head coach Sheldon Keefe has been named as his replacement. Tonight will be the Leafs first game without Babcock. They are in Arizona to face the Coyotes.
