New Mental Health Study Finds Parents Caring For Kids With Anxiety Costs The Economy Big Money

Only a week after Bell Let’s Talk Day, a new report has been released that says parents who miss work to help children suffering from anxiety costs the Ontario economy $421-million dollars per year. The report, released yesterday by Children’s Mental Health Ontario, looked at data collected in 2017. That research showed that one in four parents in the province reported missing work to care for a child with anxiety issues. The new analysis was conducted by the University of Toronto’s Canadian Centre for Health Economics.
