The Next OPP Commissioner Is A Toronto Police Veteran

A veteran Toronto police officer that you may recognize from Z103.5 has been named the next commissioner of the OPP. Superintendent Ronald Taverner is a regular guest on the Scott & Kat Show. He will take over the post on December 17th. The province says Taverner began his policing career in 1967 and has worked in intelligence, organized crime and community policing over a career spanning more than 50 years. Community Safety Minister (and Dufferin-Caledon MPP) Sylvia Jones says he was appointed the next OPP commissioner by the provincial cabinet, based on the unanimous recommendation of a selection committee.
