Orangeville Police Warn Of Fentanyl Laced Xanax Tablets Circulating

Police in Orangeville have issued a public safety alert regarding some bad drugs floating around the community. Police say unknown individuals are repurposing “Xanax” by crushing it and adding another drug, thought to be fentanyl.  In the last two weeks a 19-year-old and a 20-year old, both males, died of a suspected overdose. In both cases police recovered evidence to suggest that fentanyl laced Xanax tablets contributed to the deaths. Police are asking you to speak to family members about the dangers of prescription and non-prescription drug use and abuse and to steer clear of street drugs altogether.
