Police In Guelph Announce They Are Moving To Hybrid Cruisers

Police in Guelph are going a little greener. They’ve committed to moving to hybrid vehicles for all marked police cruisers. The police service says the transition will begin in the fall and will take three to four years. The service says the move is expected to reduce fuel consumption, reduce CO2 emissions and extend the life of police vehicles.

We are making this commitment because it is the right thing to do”, said Chief Gord Cobey.  “We have a responsibility to be stewards of our environmental resources in the same way we seek to ensure the appropriate allocation of the financial resources entrusted to us.
