Special Weather Statement Issued – Expect Freezing Rain And Ice Pellets

Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement about tomorrow’s weather. Currently the forecast calls for ice pellets beginning in the morning and then changing to freezing rain or ice pellets in the afternoon.  Up to 2cm is possible. Here is the special weather statement:

  • Burlington – Oakville
  • Caledon
  • Halton Hills – Milton
  • Mississauga – Brampton
  • Pickering – Oshawa – Southern Durham Region
  • Vaughan – Richmond Hill – Markham
  • Niagara Falls – Welland – Southern Niagara Region
  • Catharines – Grimsby – Northern Niagara Region
  • Guelph – Erin – Southern Wellington County
  • Kitchener – Cambridge – Region of Waterloo
  • Brantford – County of Brant
  • Woodstock – Tillsonburg – Oxford County
  • Mount Forest – Arthur – Northern Wellington County

Freezing rain expected Wednesday afternoon. Precipitation is expected to begin Wednesday morning as ice pellets before becoming mixed with freezing rain near midday. Freezing rain could persist for several hours Wednesday afternoon before ending in the evening or overnight. The Wednesday evening commute will likely be affected due to the potential for untreated surfaces to become icy. Freezing rain warnings may be issued.
