Taylor Swift had a late night intrusion when a police chase ended with a stolen sedan smashed through her front gates. Police in Hopkinton, Rhode Island, confirmed they began speeding after the vehicle at around 1 a.m. on Tuesday before it crashed into the gates of Swift’s mansion. She wasn’t home at the time, TMZ reported. Three ambulances rushed to the scene and the driver Shykeim Edwin Lewis, 19, along with 18-year-old Kajae Correa and a 16-year-old were taken to hospital. Another 18-year-old Taquan Nealey fled the scene but was later found and was not injured. Police said a car with no license plates, believed to have been stolen from Hartford, Connecticut, was spotted driving erratically in Hopkinton, five miles from Swift’s home. Westerly police were waiting to intercept the vehicle as it made its way to the affluent Watch Hill neighborhood. After another police car nearly collided with the stolen car it went into Swift’s gates. Lewis, of Hartford, is charged with reckless driving by engaging police in high-speed pursuit; obstructing an officer; felony receiving stolen goods; and driving when license is suspended or denied. The others in the car were not charged.
