After 40 draws without a big winner in the US Powerball lottery, a single ticket sold in California matched all six numbers drawn last night for the nearly $700-million-dollar jackpot. The Powerball jackpot climbed to 699.8-million dollars, making it the seventh largest in American lottery history. The winner will be able to choose between the annuity option paid over 29 years, or the cash option of 496-million — both options are subject to taxes. Our lotteries this week are pretty good. Tonight’s Lotto Max is for $25 million and tomorrow’s 649 is for $11 million.
