Thousands Still Don’t Have Power On The East Coast

The power is still out for thousands on the east coast. 104,000 homes and businesses in Nova Scotia, especially Halifax, along with 18,000 in PEI and about 2,700 in eastern New Brunswick are in the dark. Nova Scotia Power is receiving much-needed help from crews from Quebec, Ontario, New Brunswick, Florida and Maine in the aftermath of Hurricane Dorian. Officials say many larger outages affecting Cape Breton and the northeastern mainland were expected to be fixed by today, but that many smaller ones would take longer. Public schools in Nova Scotia will remain closed for a second day today, in part to give cleanup crews the room they need to work.
