Thousands Of Vehicles Recalled Due To A Cruise Control Issue

Fiat Chrysler is urgently warning the drivers of millions of cars, SUVs, minivans and pickup trucks to avoid using the cruise control until their vehicle is fixed.  They have discovered at least one instance of a driver unable to disengage the cruise control.  Forcefully applying the brakes will overpower any acceleration and bring the vehicle to a stop but drivers may have to shift into neutral or park to fully disengage the feature.  A recall has been issued for certain models that covers more than 4.8 million vehicles in the United States and 490,000 in Canada.
