Today won’t be an ordinary day. This morning is the funeral for former U.S. President George H.W. Bush. He passed away on Friday at age 94. Former Canadian Prime Minister Brian Mulroney is one of the few asked to speak at the funeral. Donald Trump was not invited to speak but will attend. Prince Charles will travel to Washington to represent the royal family. President Trump has declared this a National Day of Mourning in the U.S. which means the federal government, the U.S. postal service and the stock markets are all closed today. The funeral is being televised on almost every major network. Flags on all Canadian federal buildings in both Canada and the U.S. will be lowered today. George H.W. Bush served as the 41st President of the United States from 1989 to 1993. Prior to assuming the presidency, Bush served as the 43rd Vice President of the United States from 1981 to 1989, under Ronald Reagan.
