Trudeau Issues An Apology Ahead Of His Third Ethics Investigation

Yesterday Prime Minister Trudeau addressed the allegations of conflict of interest that he faces over the WE affair. He apologized for creating a perceived conflict over the government’s decision to award a massive contract to the WE Charity to manage a major student-volunteering program. Trudeau says he made a mistake by not knowing how much WE had paid his mother and brother for speaking engagements. He also apologized for not recusing himself from the decision making process. He did not say he would agree to testify in front of a commons committee. In his speech, Trudeau also lamented that WE no longer has the $900-million-dollar contract, meaning students will have to wait for much-needed aid. He said his major goal of getting into politics has always been to help create opportunities for young people to serve.
