Various Weather Warnings In Effect – Some Areas Could Get 100 km/h Winds Today

Strong southwesterly winds gusting to 80 km/h this afternoon. A sharp cold front blasting through Southwestern Ontario will cause the southeasterly winds to shift into the southwest by early afternoon, with frequent gusts of 70 to 80 km/h expected. The strong southwesterly winds will veer into the west and ease this evening. Strong winds may toss loose objects or cause tree branches to break. Isolated power outages are also possible.

Strong southwesterly winds beginning this afternoon. Strong southwesterly winds gusting to 80 km/h are expected to develop this afternoon in the wake of a sharp cold front blasting across the region. Wind gusts may approach 90 km/h this afternoon especially in exposed areas. Winds will veer to the west and slowly ease this evening. Strong winds may toss loose objects or cause tree branches to break. A few power outages are also possible.

  • Simcoe – Delhi – Norfolk
  • Dunnville – Caledonia – Haldimand

Southwesterly winds gusting to 100 km/h this afternoon and evening. Very strong southwesterly winds gusting to 100 km/h will suddenly develop early this afternoon as a sharp cold front blasts through. These damaging winds will persist into this evening before veering to the west and diminishing. The highest wind gusts will be in exposed areas along the Lake Erie shore. Power outages are possible. Damage to buildings, such as to roof shingles and windows, may occur. High winds may toss loose objects or cause tree branches to break. Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions due to high winds.
