As-if it couldn’t get any worse for the Prime Minister … Yesterday happened. First Treasury Board president Jane Philpott, a star minister in the Liberal cabinet, resigned. In her resignation letter, Philpott said she had lost confidence and could not defend the government over the SNC Lavalin scandal anymore.
It grieves me to resign from a portfolio where I was at work to deliver an important mandate. I must abide by my core values, my ethical responsibilities, constitutional obligations. There can be a cost to acting on one’s principles, but there is a bigger cost to abandoning them. pic.twitter.com/EwO5dtdgG6

Then … at a rally in Toronto last night the Prime Minister’s speech was interrupted multiple times by protesters and hecklers.
And then a new IPSOS-Reid poll came out last night confirming what Conservative leader Andrew Sheer has been saying. 2/3 of Canadians believe Trudeau has lost the moral authority to lead the country.
Tomorrow The Commons justice committee will hear tomorrow from Trudeau’s ex-top aide Gerry Butts, who was identified by Jody Wilson-Raybould as one of the sources of pressure from the PM’s office.
