What’s Open And Closed On Thanksgiving

We are heading into the Thanksgiving long weekend! Just a reminder that Monday is a holiday so you need to get your shopping done in advance. Grand River Transit and the TTC will operate on a holiday schedule and GO Transit will operate on a Sunday schedule. The LCBO and Beer Store will be closed on Monday. Banks and government offices will also be closed. You may find grocery stores and even some malls open but hours will vary and it’s best to check before heading out. Many tourist attractions will be open on Monday.

There will still be COVID-19 restrictions in place for Thanksgiving. Chief medical officer of health Doctor Kieran Moore says while virtual celebrations are still the safest option, families can come together, with indoor gatherings capped at 25, and outdoors at 100. He says if everyone is vaccinated, people can gather indoors without masks, but if there are people from multiple households and some guests are unvaccinated, people should wear face coverings and physically distance.
