Today at 5pm is the deadline for would-be candidates to declare that they want to run for the leadership of the Ontario Liberal Party. This isn’t going to be easy for whoever wins. Not only do they have to shake the reputation of Dalton McGuinty and Kathleen Wynne, the party has to rebuild after losing official status in last year’s provincial election. Declared already are former cabinet ministers Steven Del Duca, Michael Coteau and Mitzie Hunter, as well as former party candidates Kate Graham and Alvin Tedjo.
