There Will Be Another Test Of The Emergency Alert System Today

Today another test of the Canadian emergency alert system will take place. It is scheduled for at 1:55pm local time. For this test, you should get the notification on your cell phone, see it on your TV and hear it on your radio. The emergency alert system was implemented to warn Canadians about natural disasters, fires, terrorist attacks, amber alerts, civil emergencies and more. In recent tests, some users complained of not receiving a notification.

From AlertReady.ca: Alert Ready is Canada’s emergency alerting system. Alert Ready delivers critical and potentially life-saving alerts to Canadians through television, radio and LTE-connected and compatible wireless devices. The Alert Ready system was developed with many partners, including federal, provincial and territorial emergency management officials, Environment and Climate Change Canada, Pelmorex, the broadcasting industry and wireless service providers. Together, these partners work to ensure Canadians receive alerts immediately and know when to take action to stay safe.
