Canada’s Indigenous leaders Won’t Meet The Pope This Month Due To The Omicron Variant

Plans for residential school survivors and other Indigenous leaders to travel to the Vatican this month to meet with Pope Francis have been postponed. They say in a joint statement that the decision to postpone was a heartbreaking one, but among their concerns were the risks posed to elders who would be travelling and those who live in remote communities.
