Epic Games says it will appeal a federal judge’s decision in its lawsuit claiming that Apple has been running an illegal monopoly with its App Store. The maker of the popular Fortnite video game says it will take its case to the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals in San Francisco. A U.S. District Judge rejected Epic’s claim that Apple runs a monopoly. But she did order Apple to drop a requirement that payment for any app or service on an iPhone or iPad be paid for through the App Store. Apple had been taking a cut of up to 30% on such transactions.
