Retailers Should Be Optimistic About Holiday Shopping Trends

Several new surveys suggest Canadians are feeling upbeat heading into the holiday season. The polls indicate that the return of celebrations, robust savings and low unemployment are expected to bolster consumer confidence and spending ahead of the busiest shopping season of the year. Surveys from Accenture and Deloitte both indicate that Canadians intend to spend more this holiday season than they did last year. JLL Canada’s poll found that shoppers are also expected to make a big return to malls and other brick-and-mortar stores.
