A new study shows that a decent amount of humans tend to start off a new relationship with a lie. While some can be seen as pretty innocent, some are downright horrible! LeoVegas has revealed the most common lies people tell. Here is the break down:
Most common lies
1 in 10: Admit to avoiding the truth when the topic of previous partners arises, with women (15%) lying more than men (12%). (Men are three times more likely to lie about the ring on their finger compared to women.)
1 in 10: Lie about their age, with those aged 16-24 (14%) the most likely to do so.
1 in 5: Are dishonest about the number of previous partners they have had.
The lies we fall for
Two thirds of the population have fallen for a lie at the start of a relationship. Although, a quarter of women (27%) and a third of men (35%) believe that they have never been lied to.
10% of Canadians say they uncovered lies relating to their partners profession, with their job title being the centre of the lie.
